T-Mobile HTC HD2 Issues

Update: so T-Mobile has acknowledged performance issues with the HD2 and will soon be rolling out an update to address the issue. So I just quickly wanted to document an issue I was experiencing with my T-Mobile HTC HD2. It suddenly stopped responding to touch. Trying to resolve that issue I come across a notification issue. Full review coming soon to www.YouSaidWhat.net

Go into start, n look for task manager. A windows mobile phone is just like a computer, if u have too much programs running it’ll slow down. End all ur task in the task manager n problem solved. Just saying ur not really smart with phones r u? :/

I have the same problem with my + not to mention all the other issues, and what I noticed is that the back cover creates some sort of interference with the software,
by removing the cover off and keeping it off, the phone works as advertised.
its not the desired solution, I’m just pointing out that there is something wrong with the design of the metal cover.

It must be T-Mobile company stuff that messes with the phone. My HD2 is an unlocked version and it’s fast, no lagging, no issues whatsoever. Pretty satisfied. I hear so many people complain about network issues etc. My phone is woorking. Sometimes if I do not switch off the phone for a longer period of time it starts lagging then I just sticj it off and back and it works. I feel sorry for u guys.

You should have Tried restoring your phone back to factory settings. That usually helps.

HTC HD2 is just like a PC with windows installed. It gets stuck most of the time because some process is consuming the whole of the CPU. If you check your task manager you will see. Most of the time I find that email application freezes the whole phone, ending the application via task manager often helps. I think the problems with the phone will depend on the apps installed, so its hard to say if its the phone, the htc software or any other software problem.

There is an updated rom that came out last month. You can get the US T-Mobile version off the HTC website. That helps out a lot. But honestly, the real solution is this. Start a simple log of all the roms and tweaks you perform on your HD2. That way you know what you did. When/if your device slows you can perform the soft reset by pressing the little button beside your battery.

After six months you will need to do a hard reset. Save all programs/apps to your micro sd card and set it up again.

Why don’t you soft reset the device to show what you are really trying to do. HD2′s have been selling off the shelves, and thanx to xda developers, registry edits, performance mods. this thing is a beast. You obviously are trying to hide something or trying to lead people astray, I’m sorry but you don’t have any effect on those who know cellphones. Go back to simpleminded, out of date iphones, where you don’t need any tech, knowledge.

@legendofakira Judging from a lot of comments, it seems that the initial batch of HD2s experienced more issues that later batches. I confirmed this with my local corporate store manager. My HD2 was the first sold the launch day, atleast at my store. As for the HTC Evo, yep I’ve heard of it;] ‘ll have mine on the 4th. Its been pre-ordered for a while now.

i have the same phone and have had no problems like that. I just bought mine a week and a half ago, so maybe it needs time to fuck up. hopefully i bought the updated software version. i am considering returning this phone and getting the new hdt evo from sprint. have you heard much about that?

  20. mikeyrokschicago Says:

@irockdemdunks There is a manual update that you have to download via Microsoft. I updated my friend’s HD2 with the same lag issues everyone is complaining about and it runs a lot smoother.

All the people talking shit about the poster of this video probably don’t actually own the HD2 but want to believe it is flawless. I actually own the device and can testify that the things he is demonstrating in the video actually happen to owners of this phone. Yeah, you can reset it. But it locks up too much. It’s annoying.

When it works, itz very nice. Particularly if you are on a wifi network cuz the snapdragon will blaze. But when it isn’t working, it is frustrating as hell.
